Who We Are

Whale Trust Maui is a nonprofit whale research and education organization founded in 2001 by three individuals – Meagan Jones, Flip Nicklin and Jim Darling – with over 60 years of collective experience in whale research and marine education worldwide. WHALE TALES is an annual four-day event on Maui that brings together marine experts with thousands of residents and visitors from around the world. Scientists, photographers, filmmakers and conservationists join the public for a memorable weekend of expert presentations, hands-on educational opportunities and exciting whale watches.
